Ambassador of Ukraine to India requests PM Modi to intervene for assistance

Ukraine asked India for help on Thursday in fighting the Russian military who had invaded the eastern European country earlier in the day.

Dr Igor Polikha, Ukraine’s ambassador to India, made an emotional appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to news agency ANI “I’m not sure how many international leaders Putin will listen to, but Modi Ji’s stature gives me hope. Putin, at the very least, should consider his loud voice. The Indian government is expected to take a considerably more favourable stance.”

India is one of the few countries that has not condemned Putin’s actions in Ukraine, which have ranged from amassing soldiers near the border to commencing military action. New Delhi, on the other hand, has been adamant about de-escalation.
