Jagan Reddy concludes ‘padayatra’ for Polavaram project
Hyderabad: Former Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today concluded his four-day ‘padayatra’ for construction of multi-purpose Polavaram irrigation project in West Godavari district.
Addressing a public meeting, Jagan alleged that the state would become a ‘desert’ if the project in Polavaram town is not taken up.
The project would benefit not only the coastal districts but also Telangana and Rayalaseema, he said, adding, if it was constructed earlier, it would have cost much less.
It was only the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who made sincere efforts to get national status for the project, he said.
Jagan loyalists Congress MPs M Rajamohan Reddy (Nellore) and Sabbam Hari (Anakapalle)attended the meeting.
Jagan had begun his ‘padayatra’ at Ravulapalem in East Godavari district four days ago.
The Polavaram project was conceived as a multipurpose scheme providing irrigation to 4.
