SP names 58 more candidates for 2012 UP elections

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party today announced the names of 58 candidates for next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The party’s state unit president Akhilesh Yadav today released the names of 58 candidates for constituencies in the districts of Meerut, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Agra, Firozabad, Sitapur, Hardoi, Kanpur, Jhansi, Allahabad, Varanasi, Barabanki and Faizabad among others, party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said.

The party had earlier announced the names of 212 candidates and with today’s list a total of 270 names have so face been declared, he said.

SP is expected to announce the names of the remaining candidates soon so that they have enough time to start preparations for the polls early next year, he added.
