As India celebrates Kohli’s glorious Test career, his old CBSE marksheet from 2004 resurfaces online — sparking a renewed conversation on passion vs. academic performance.
May 17, 2025: Just days after Virat Kohli emotionally bid farewell to Test cricket, an image of his Class 10 CBSE marksheet from 2004 has once again gone viral on social media. The post, originally shared in 2023 by IAS officer Jitin Yadav, is now resonating with students and fans alike as the 2025 board results were declared earlier this week.

The marksheet shows Kohli scored 419 out of 600 marks, reflecting a fairly balanced academic record. He excelled in English (83), Social Science (81) and Hindi (75), but had more modest scores in Maths (51), Science and Technology (55), and Introductory IT (74).
Had marks been the sole factor, the entire nation wouldn't be rallying behind him now.

Kohli’s Emotional Farewell to Test Cricket
Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this week via Instagram, closing a 14-year chapter of iconic moments, leadership, and unmatched consistency in the whites.
“It’s been 14 years since I first wore the baggy blue in Test cricket… I’ve given it everything I had, and it’s given me back so much more,” Kohli wrote.
Kohli will continue to play in ODIs, having already stepped away from T20 Internationals in 2024.
