Earthquake hits China’s Xinjiang province

Beijing: An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale hit Wuqia County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region today, according to the China Earthquake Networks Centre.
The epicentre was monitored at 39.4 degrees north latitude and 75.2 degrees east longitude with a depth of about 10 kilometres.
It occurred at around 9:56 am, the centre said. There were no early reports of casualties, state-run news agency ‘Xinhua’ said.
