UK to give USD 110 million for Pakistan flood relief effort
London: The British government says it will give another 70 million pounds (about USD 110 million) to the Pakistan flood relief effort.

Britain’s Department for International Development said today the new pledge more than doubles the total UK contribution to 134 million pounds (about USD 210 million.)
The floods which hit Pakistan earlier this summer were the worst in that nation’s history, affecting some 20 million people and making nearly half of them homeless.
The new contribution was made in response to the UN’s disaster appeal.
The UN has asked the world’s governments and humanitarian groups to raise a total of USD 2 billion for Pakistan’s flood victims.
