Yami expressed gratitude for being part of such a memorable project, calling her role as Pallavi Sharma a dream come true.

Directed by Yami's husband, Aditya Dhar, Uri was released before the two were married. The film, based on the true events of the Indian Army's surgical strikes in September 2016 against terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), was a major success. It starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, alongside Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina.
