Haryana BJP Chief and Singer Booked for Gang Rape in Kasauli

The survivor alleges threats and blackmail by the accused, who promised a government job and music video opportunity.

January 15, 2025: Haryana BJP chief Mohanlal Badoli and singer Jai Bhagwan alias Rocky Mittal have been charged with gang rape following a woman's complaint in Himachal Pradesh's Kasauli. The Himachal Pradesh Police registered an FIR against the two men on December 13, 2024, based on the survivor's allegations.

The complainant alleges that she met the accused in July 2023 while staying at a hotel in Kasauli with her boss and a friend. During the meeting, Badoli identified himself as a political leader, while Rocky claimed to be a singer. Promising the survivor a government job and an opportunity to feature in a music video, the two lured her into a private room, the FIR states.

According to the complaint, the accused forced her to consume alcohol, and upon refusal, they assaulted and raped her. They also recorded videos and clicked pictures of the act, threatening to kill her if she disclosed the incident.

The survivor further alleged that two months ago, she was summoned to Rocky's house in Panchkula, where the accused threatened to implicate her in a false case if she spoke up.

The police have booked Badoli and Rocky under sections 376D (gang rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). As the case gained public attention, a copy of the FIR circulated widely on social media.

Despite attempts to contact him, Badoli has not responded to the allegations.
