NCP (SP) leader seeks thorough probe into plane crash that killed former Maharashtra deputy CM
March 7, 2026: Rohit Pawar, MLA from the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), met Arvind Kejriwal, former Chief Minister of Delhi and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party, at his residence in the national capital on Saturday. During the meeting, Rohit Pawar discussed the death of his uncle, former Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash, and the progress of the investigation into the incident.
Speaking after the meeting, Rohit Pawar said the family is seeking justice and clarity over whether the crash was an accident or the result of a political conspiracy. He emphasised the need for a comprehensive criminal investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragedy.
Rohit Pawar also alleged that authorities in Maharashtra have not taken adequate steps in the case. He claimed that the Maharashtra Police has not registered their FIR and that the investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department is progressing very slowly, raising concerns about delays in the probe.
