Mysuru (Karnataka) [India], August 29 (ANI): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday said that his government has the political will to implement five guarantees that were promised to the people in the state by Congress.
Speaking to the reporters in Mysore, CM Siddaramaiah said, “Opposition and the Prime Minister of the country had said that if the guarantee schemes are implemented, the state will go bankrupt.
But we are successfully implementing the five guarantees. Apart from this, we will implement 76 programs mentioned in the manifesto.”
Ahead of the launch of the Grilahakshmi scheme in Mysore tomorrow, Siddaramaiah said, “On May 9, the day before the election, me and DK Shivakumar distributed the guarantee cards after seeking the blessings of Chamundeshwari.
Gruha Lakshmi scheme, the most significant of the five guarantees, is being launched tomorrow. The scheme is being launched in the presence of Mallikarjuna Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.”
He further stated that the Central government has failed to control inflation.
“Central government has failed to curb food price hike and inflation.
Guarantee schemes were announced to help common people, middle class and financially poor families. A family will get at least 4-6 thousand rupees per month.
Economic activities will increase only if the poor have money,” he said.
“There is no other project in the country where such huge money is being spent on a single project like Grilahakshmi.
Earlier Congress during its poll campaign in Karnataka this year had announced the five main guarantees to the people of Karnataka.
The five ‘main’ guarantees are 200 units of free power to all households (Gruha Jyoti); Rs 2,000 monthly assistance to the woman head of every family (Gruha Lakshmi); 10 kg of rice free to every member of a BPL household (Anna Bhagya); Rs 3,000 every month for unemployed graduate youth and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders (both in the age group of 18-25) for two years (Yuva Nidhi) and free travel for women in public transport buses (Uchita Prayana).
