New Delhi [India]: The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), has successfully completed its Special Campaign 2.0, aimed at resolving pending matters and promoting cleanliness (Swachhta) within government offices.
This campaign, initiated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), ran from November 2022 to August 2023, building upon the success of its previous iterations, read the NITI Aayog press release.
With the vision of giving a heartfelt tribute of “A Clean India” to Mahatma Gandhi, the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) initiated a special campaign for disposal of pending matters from 2nd to 31st October 2021, read the press release.
NITI Aayog, along with its attached offices, Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), and the National Institute of Labour Economics Research and Development (NILERD), took active participation in this initiative, read the release.
One of the primary objectives of Special Campaign 2.0 was the efficient handling of public grievances, references from Members of Parliament, State Governments, Inter-Ministerial Consultations and Parliamentary Assurances by various Ministries and Departments.
This gained significant momentum, with approximately 95 per cent of public grievances and appeals being successfully addressed during the campaign period.
Moreover, the campaign also tackled the issue of record management within government offices. Over 75 per cent of physical files earmarked for review were assessed and cleared, creating more streamlined and efficient processes, read the press release.
Additionally, redundant scrap materials and obsolete items were identified and disposed of, generating revenue in the process.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aspect of Special Campaign 2.0 was instrumental in enhancing the cleanliness of both indoor and outdoor spaces within NITI Aayog and its attached offices. This included efforts to declutter workspaces and optimize the use of office areas, read the press release.
Special Campaign 2.0 represents a significant step towards achieving the government’s commitment to transparent and efficient governance while also contributing to the broader goal of cleanliness and hygiene across government institutions.
