“YSRCP To Contest All Seats Alone… “: Sharmila Reddy Denies Possibilty Of Alliance With Congress

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: YSR Telangana Party’s Chief, YS Sharmila Reddy, ruled out the speculations of a possible alliance with the Congress party ahead of the Telangana assembly polls on Thursday, stating that the YSRTP will contest all the seats alone.

“YSRTP will contest all 119 seats alone. We will have tough competition,” said Reddy in an official statement.

Meanwhile, the YSRTP chief also declared that she would contest the polls from Telangana’s Paleru constituency.

“I will contest from Paleru. There is also a demand to contest from another constituency,” Sharmila said, adding that her husband Anil Kumar and mother Vijayamma have also been asked to fight the state assembly polls.

Earlier, there were reports on the possible merger of the YSR Telangana Party with the Congress.

It is worth mentioning that the YSRTP was founded in 2021 by YS Sharmila Reddy, daughter of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
However, at present, the party has no seats in either Lok Sabha or Vidhan Sabha.
Sharmila is serving the party as its president.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Monday that the Telangana Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 30.
The counting of votes will be done on December 3, the poll body added.

Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress in the upcoming assembly election.

In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119 and had a dominant vote share of 47.4 percent.

Congress came in a distant second with 19 seats. Its vote share was 28.7 percent.
Meanwhile, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned in wooing voters.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier held a public rally in Telangana’s Adilabad.
Shah came down heavily on the KCR government, leading to a word war between the BJP and the BRS.

He said that KCR’s goal is to make his son KTR the Chief Minister of the state.
In response to it, KTR said, “We would like to ask Amit Shah to name one state in India where per capita income grew by over 300 percent.

Show me one such BJP-ruled or Congress-ruled state. Telangana is one state that is making unprecedented progress… Show me one BJP-ruled state that has performed better than Telangana.”
