India’s people and Kabaddi have always had a close relationship going back a number of years. But the popularity and prominence of the sport have only increased since the Pro Kabaddi League was established in 2014. To keep Indian sports fans interested in the game, the league has introduced novel regulations including super raids, 30-second raids, Do-or-Die raids, and super tackles. In addition, the league’s announcers masterfully presented the sport to draw in millions of viewers.
Friday was the spectacular opening of Season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League, which is approaching the historic milestone of completing ten editions. The event took place on the Akshar River Cruise in Ahmedabad. The Pro Kabaddi League’s Head Sports Leagues, Mashal Sports, and League Commissioner, Anupam Goswami, introduced the special season alongside Sunil Kumar, the captain of the Jaipur Pink Panthers, who won the PKL Season 9; and Pawan Sehrawat, the captain of the Telugu Titans, and Fazel Atrachali, the captain of the Gujarat Giants, who opened the Season 10. Anupam Goswami said at the press briefing as the ship rounded the Sabarmati River, “Returning to the 12-city caravan format is the historic event for Season 10.
At least nine regions that have not had the Pro Kabaddi League in their local area since 2019 will be reactivated. The league benefits from having a strong relationship with the community in each of the franchises’ home regions by holding the league in 12 cities.”
The highly anticipated opening game of PKL Season 10 between the Gujarat Giants and Telugu Titans will take place at the EKA Arena by TransStadia on Saturday. Pawan Sehrawat, the captain of the Titans and the most expensive player in Pro Kabaddi League history, said that his squad is prepared for the opening match, saying, “I can’t wait to get on the mat. I found it difficult to miss the final season.
But I’m excited to play Fazel in the opening game and have a lot of energy saved up for the next season. Through the training camp, our players have prepared themselves for the season quite effectively. We are well prepared to take on the Gujarat Giants in our first game.”
“I am very excited to be a part of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10,” declared Gujarat Giants captain and the most expensive defender in the league, Fazel Atrachali. The world’s greatest kabaddi competition is this one. We are eager for the season to begin. I’m thrilled to be a member of the Gujarat Giants this season. We have an excellent coach and many youthful talent. I’m hoping for a successful season.” Last season, the Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated Puneri Paltan in the championship game to win the Pro Kabaddi League title. Sunil Kumar, the captain of the Jaipur Pink Panthers, said of entering Season 10 as the defending champions: “We have to make sure that the trophy stays with us because it currently belongs to us.” For this season, we have worked out even more. We used an excellent player lineup last year, and we’ll stick with same lineup this year. We did a great job of preparing for the competition.”
