The Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams are gearing up for the much-anticipated 5 Nations Tournament Valencia 2023, scheduled to take place from December 15 to December 22. Joining them in this prestigious tournament are formidable teams from Spain, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, and France.
Kicking off the tournament on December 15, the Indian Women’s Hockey Team is set to face the host nation, Spain, in an intense battle. Subsequently, they will engage in matchups against Belgium on December 16, Germany on December 19, and Ireland in their final clash on December 21. Captain Savita expressed confidence, stating, “After three days of acclimation in Valencia, we are ready to commence the tournament against Spain. This event provides us with an opportunity to fine-tune our performance, addressing weaknesses ahead of the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier Ranchi 2024.”
Similarly, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team is slated to commence their campaign against the host nation, Spain, on December 15, followed by encounters against Belgium on December 16, Germany on December 19, and a showdown with France on December 20. Captain Harmanpreet Singh conveyed optimism, saying, “With several top hockey teams converging in Valencia, we aim to utilize this window to enhance our game. Every match holds significance, and we are eager to play and make the nation proud.”
The inaugural matches on December 15 will witness the Indian Women’s Hockey Team facing Spain at 15:30 hrs, followed by the Indian Men’s Hockey Team taking on Spain at 17:45 hrs. The stage is set for an exciting tournament, with both teams poised to showcase their prowess on the international stage.
