In a recent episode of “Koffee with Karan 8,” actor Neetu Kapoor discussed the relationship between late actor Rishi Kapoor and his children, Ranbir and Riddhima. Neetu and seasoned actor Zeenat Aman graced the coffee couch. The ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ star remembered her time with her late husband in New York during his cancer treatment during a conversation with the show’s host, Karan Johar. “So, Karan, I don’t like to remember the sad part,” she remarked. I prefer to think back on the positive aspects of our relationship and our time spent in New York. Although we had the best year ever—I had the best year of my life—New York was incredibly depressing.
She also disclosed that, in the final days of his life, the “Karz” actor ceased to be stiff and unfriendly with his children. “Because you are aware of how loving Chintu Ji (Rishi Kapoor) is. There was so much love in him. However, there was one thing he never truly expressed his love for. Instead of showing love, he would always bully people and maintain his distance. He was like a big thing, especially with me and my kids. Respect and everything, and as a result, he missed out on a lot of time with his kids. They never considered him a friend,” she remarked. But that year, she continued, “he opened up.” He was very beautiful and approached me with love. We had an amazing time.
His condition was leukaemia. He spent a significant amount of time receiving treatment in New York. Through thick and thin, Neetu was his rock-solid partner. On January 22, 1980, Rishi and Neetu tied the knot. They are parents to two children: actress Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and famous actor Ranbir Kapoor. The couple, who starred in numerous hits together in the 1970s and 1980s, included “Amar Akbar Anthony,” “Khel Khel Mein,” “Rafoo Chakkar,” “Kabhi Kabhie,” “Besharam,” and many more. Their on-screen and off-screen romance inspired generations of people.
