The International T20 (ILT20) 2024 coaching staff has been announced by the MI Emirates team. Ajay Jadeja will be the hitting coach, Mitchell McClenaghan will be the bowling coach, and Robin Singh will assume the role of head coach. Since 2010, Singh has been a valuable member of the MI family’s coaching staff. He has contributed significantly to the Mumbai Indians’ five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 campaigns. In 2023, he was MI Emirates’ general manager during the ILT20’s first season. From 1989 to 2001, Robin, an Indian all-round player, was active. He scored 27 runs in his lone Test match for India. He also featured in 136 ODIs, scoring 2,336 runs, with a century and nine fifties and taking 69 wickets with his pace bowling.
The former Indian captain, Ajay Jadeja, will serve as the batting coach and contribute his wealth of knowledge from his time as a player, coach, and mentor. In 15 Test matches, Jadeja scored 576 runs, including four fifty-score innings, for India. In 196 other One-Day Internationals, he made 5,359 runs at an average of 37.47, including six hundreds and thirty fifties. After winning four titles with the One Family, Mitchell McClenaghan made his IPL debut in 2015 with the Mumbai Indians. He is now back as a bowling coach, having gone from being a player to a coach. Between 2012 and 2018, Mitchell played for New Zealand in 48 ODIs and 29 T20Is, taking 82 wickets and 30 wickets in each match.
Continuing from the previous season are Kiwi all-rounder James Franklin (Fielding Coach), who has played in 31 Tests, 110 ODIs, and 38 T20Is for the Kiwis, and assistant coach Vinay Kumar, who has played in one Test, 31 ODIs, and nine T20Is for India. ILT20’s second season will air this year from January 19 to February 18.
