The return date of HBO hit series ‘The House of Dragon’ has been confirmed by the makers! Season-2 will be premiered this summer on June 16.
The ‘House of Dragon’ Season-1, was a prequel to perhaps the biggest hit of all times, ‘Game of Thrones’, the sequel’s first season consisting of 10 episodes was released in the Summer of 2022.
The series begins about 100 years after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, and 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. The show portrays the events leading up to the beginning of the decline of House of Targaryen in a devastating war of succession known as the “Dance of the Dragons”.
The 1st season ends with the advent of the ruinous civil war called the Dance of the Dragons and a promise of it being a deadly affair.
The first season also had many time jumps as you may recall, including a 10-year jump between episode 5 and 6. Though the series picked-up pace from the 7th episode onwards.
The House of Dragon’ Season-1 drew major ratings on its first episode itself- earning a whopping 10 million viewers, which lead to the talks of season 2 within just weeks of the premiere episode.
Trailers of Season 2 of the HBO fantasy series were released this week, setting June 16 as the day of debut of Season-2.
To get audiences even more hyped for the big return, the production house released duelling trailers for the civil war to come.
So what can we expect to see this summer? The exact plot for House of the Dragon season 2 is under wraps, but the series show runner, Ryan Condal, told The Hollywood Reporter that many new characters will appear.
