Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ Expands Cast with Six New Members

Exciting developments are underway for fans of ‘Outlander’ as the prequel series ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ announces the addition of six new actors to its ensemble.

As previously disclosed, the series will delve into the lives of key characters such as Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (portrayed by Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (played by Jeremy Irvine), alongside Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (embodied by Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (portrayed by Jamie Roy).

Joining the cast are Sally Messham, portraying ‘Mrs Fitz,’ Ellen’s maid at Castle Leoch and Murtagh’s aunt. Terence Rae steps in as ‘Arch Bug,’ tasked with guarding Clan Grant. Sadhbh Malin embodies ‘Jocasta Cameron,’ the spirited youngest child of the MacKenzie clan, with Ailsa Davidson portraying her sister ‘Janet MacKenzie.’ Annabelle Dowler takes on the role of ‘Lizbeth,’ Julia’s superior at the War Department, while Harry Eaton portrays ‘Private Charlton,’ Henry Beauchamp’s comrade in arms, set in the 20th century.

Production for the 10-episode prequel in Scotland commenced in February, exploring the intricate relationships and narratives of Jamie and Claire’s lineage. The original series, marking its tenth anniversary this summer, continues to captivate audiences, with the last eight episodes of its seventh season slated for release in November. Furthermore, production has commenced on the 10-episode eighth season, serving as the final installment for the television adaptation.

Matthew B. Roberts takes the helm as showrunner and executive producer for both series, alongside Maril Davis and Ronald D. Moore. Diana Gabaldon, the visionary behind the franchise, assumes the role of consultant producer. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ promises to unravel parallel love stories in distinct historical settings, delving into the rich tapestry of the Outlander universe.
