In the latest development regarding the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence, Mumbai Crime Branch officials revealed that Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary, the fifth accused apprehended from Rajasthan, had conducted surveillance not only at Khan’s home but also at the residences of two other Bollywood actors.
Key orchestrator Anmol Vishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, played a crucial role in motivating the shooters. After receiving weapons in Panvel on March 15, 2024, Anmol provided target details to the shooters, instructing them to carry out the firing at the actor’s residence.
Choudhary, tasked with reconnaissance, surveyed Salman Khan’s apartment building on April 12, recording footage and forwarding it to Anmol. Shooters Pal and Gupta initially hesitated until reassured by Anmol of the merits of their task.
Sent to Mumbai by the Vishnoi gang in October of the previous year, the shooters faced accommodation challenges until March 2024 when they secured a flat in the Harigram area with local assistance.
The planned firing, executed as directed, earned the shooters a total of 3 lakh rupees. Mumbai Crime Branch continues to investigate the matter to apprehend all involved, issuing a lookout notice for Anmol Bishnoi.
The firing incident on April 14 outside Salman Khan’s residence in Galaxy Apartments sent shockwaves through Mumbai’s Bandra area. Subsequent arrests linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang prompted authorities to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all implicated in the shooting.
