The final league stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Guwahati was called off due to rain on Sunday, with both teams earning one point each.
KKR remains at the top of the table with nine wins, three losses, and two no results, totaling 20 points. RR is in third place with eight wins, five losses, and one no result, accumulating 17 points.
With the league stage now complete, the playoff match-ups are set. KKR will face second-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first qualifier at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21. SRH secured the second spot following a victory over Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday.
SRH now sits second in the points table with eight wins, five losses, and one no result, totaling 17 points. PBKS finishes in ninth place with five wins, nine losses, and 10 points.
The eliminator match on May 22 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will feature a clash between RR and fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Rajasthan’s form has dipped with four successive losses and a washout, putting them at a disadvantage heading into the eliminator against a revitalized RCB.
The winner of the eliminator will face the loser of the first qualifier in Qualifier 2 on May 24 at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium. The final is scheduled for May 26 in Chennai.
