Mumbai Police have uncovered a significant lead in the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s residence. An audio recording recovered from one of the arrested suspects has been matched with the voice of Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The forensic laboratory verified the match.
The incident occurred on April 14 outside Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Anmol Bishnoi, based in Canada, has claimed responsibility for orchestrating the shooting. Recently, the police recorded detailed statements from Salman Khan and his brother, Arbaaz Khan. Salman revealed he was home during the incident, awakened by the sound of gunfire after hosting a late-night party. He emphasized the seriousness of the event and praised Mumbai Police for their swift action.
Following the arrests, connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang emerged, prompting the police to invoke the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved. The investigation revealed that Anmol Bishnoi played a pivotal role, instructing the shooters and providing them with weapons and target information. The shooters carried out the attack as planned, receiving Rs 3 lakh for their efforts.
Arbaaz Khan issued a statement on behalf of the family, addressing the distress caused by the incident and dismissing claims that it was a publicity stunt. He assured the public that the family is cooperating fully with the police and has faith in their ability to ensure their safety.
The Mumbai Police continue to investigate the case, focusing on the Bishnoi gang’s involvement and aiming to bring all responsible parties to justice.
