Like many fans, Katrina Kaif is eagerly anticipating Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming film “Bad Newz.” After watching the hilarious trailer, she took to Instagram on Friday to share her excitement. Reposting the trailer on her Instagram story, she wrote, “Can’t wait for this. Congratulations.”
The trailer for Dharma Productions’ latest comedy “Bad Newz” dropped on Friday, promising a quirky detour from traditional rom-coms. The film dives into the chaotic world of heteropaternal superfecundation—a fancy term for two dads, one mom, and one bun in the oven!
Starring Bollywood heartthrobs Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk, the film follows two men on very different paths to fatherhood. Triptii Dimri, playing the woman caught in the middle, adds to the film’s dynamic chemistry. The trailer hints at a whirlwind of confusion, hilarious misunderstandings, and undeniable chemistry between the lead trio. From hospital mix-ups to awkward family dinners, the trailer is a laugh-a-minute preview. Neha Dhupia also features in the film, as revealed in the trailer.
Adding to the film’s charm, the trailer features a remix version of “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam” from the 1998 hit comedy-action film “Duplicate,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, and Sonali Bendre. Vicky Kaushal portrays a man struggling to come to terms with his new reality, while Ammy Virk brings his signature humor to the table. Triptii Dimri shines as the bewildered yet determined woman at the center of it all.
“Bad Newz” offers a fresh spin on the genre, promising an emotional rollercoaster laced with rib-tickling humor. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film appears to be a spiritual successor to the 2019 hit “Good Newwz,” which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh. “Bad Newz” is co-produced by Anand Tiwari along with Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. The film’s script is penned by Ishita Moitra and Tarun Dudeja.
“Bad Newz” is set to hit theaters on July 19.
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif was last seen in Sriram Raghavan’s “Merry Christmas” opposite Vijay Sethupathi. She also has Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film “Jee Le Zara” alongside Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in her kitty.
