Sharing a memorable moment from the Neeraj Ghaywan directorial, Vicky expressed his gratitude on Instagram with a snapshot from the film, captioning it, “9 years. Thank you @neeraj.ghaywan.”
Masaan continues to strike a chord with audiences nearly a decade after its release. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015, earning critical acclaim and two prestigious awards. Set in Varanasi, it intertwines two stories: Devi, played by Richa Chadda, confronting societal stigma and personal tragedy, and Deepak, portrayed by Vicky Kaushal, working at the cremation ghats while dreaming of a better future.
Fans flooded the comments with heart and fire emojis, celebrating the milestone. Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar praised the film, and followers expressed their admiration, with one user calling Vicky “the Best Actor” and Masaan their “All-time fav.”
Currently, Vicky is enjoying success with his latest release, Bad Newz, a comedy film also starring Ammy Virk and Tripti Dimri. Released on July 19, Bad Newz takes a humorous twist on heteropaternal superfecundation and follows the 2019 hit Good Newwz. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film features cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma.
