Varun Dhawan Playfully Shares Dad Struggles: ‘Even My Daughter Scolds Me Now’

Actor Varun Dhawan recently gave fans a peek into his life as a new dad during the trailer launch of his niece Anjini Dhawan’s debut film, Binny and Family. The actor humorously confessed that his baby daughter, who was born in June this year, has already started scolding him, making him question his role in the household.

When asked how fatherhood has changed his life, Varun shared with a smile, “It feels a bit strange that mom and dad just scolded me, and then as soon as I enter the baby’s room, the kid is also scolding me, and then my wife is scolding me too. So, at that moment, you start to wonder what your position is in the house.”

Reflecting further on the responsibilities that come with adulthood, he added, “I guess you call this term ‘adulting’. When you are in between both situations. I am lucky to have an elder brother, who takes on some of the load. What becomes scary or difficult at that point in time for the child is the parent’s health. When we are young, our parents are worried about us. Abhi bhi karte hai (They still do). My mother is here. But as they grow older, you also need to take care of them. It’s a situation you have to navigate.”

Despite these challenges, Varun’s joy in welcoming his daughter into the world is evident. At the trailer launch event, the Citadel: Honey Bunny actor also took a moment to celebrate his niece’s entry into the film industry. He shared the trailer of Binny and Family on Instagram Stories, proudly writing, “@anjinidhawan this is so good, welcome to the Movies,” along with a hug emoji.

The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 39 seconds, offers a glimpse into the life of Binny, a young girl living on her own terms. The film’s plot thickens as her grandparents move in with her parents, leading to generational conflicts that promise to engage and entertain audiences.

Written and directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy, Binny and Family is set to release on September 20, 2024. The film, which highlights the complexities and joys of family dynamics, is poised to make a lasting impact, much like the proud moments Varun is experiencing as a new father.
