Jennifer Lopez is teaming up with two-time Emmy winner Brett Goldstein for the upcoming romantic comedy ‘Office Romance,’ produced for Netflix.
Following the success of her films The Mother and Atlas on the streaming platform, this new project adds to Lopez’s impressive slate of Netflix collaborations.
‘Office Romance’ became the subject of a competitive bidding war before landing at Netflix. Goldstein, known for his Emmy-winning role in Ted Lasso, is co-writing the screenplay with Joe Kelly. The film will reportedly feature a range of character actors, adding depth to the romantic comedy’s ensemble.
The movie is produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company, alongside Goldstein and Kelly. Jennifer Lopez will also produce through her production company, Nuyorican Films, along with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Courtney Baxter will serve as an executive producer, continuing Nuyorican Films’ multi-year first-look deal with Netflix, which focuses on diverse storytelling and elevating female-centric narratives.
Both Lopez and Goldstein made appearances at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year. Lopez showcased her film Unstoppable, which tells the inspiring story of wrestler Anthony Robles, while Goldstein premiered his drama All of You, co-starring Imogen Poots.
In addition to ‘Office Romance’, Lopez and Nuyorican Films are also working on an adaptation of Emily Henry’s bestselling novel Happy Place into a Netflix series, with Leila Cohan as the showrunner.
