Alia Bhatt recently made headlines during the promotional event for her upcoming film Jigra in Hyderabad, where she expressed her admiration and gratitude to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
In a viral video from the event, Alia praised Samantha, Alia said, “My dearest Samantha, you are a hero on and off-screen. I have so much admiration for your talent, for your resilience, for your strength. It’s not easy to be a woman in a man’s world, but you have surpassed gender. You stand tall on your two feet, and you have your talent, and your strong kicks to be an example for everyone.”
Alia revealed that Samantha accepted her invite to the event in just 6.5 seconds, further underscoring their mutual respect. Alia even suggested to acclaimed director Trivikram Srinivas, who was also present at the event along with Rana Daggubati, that they should collaborate on a film starring both her and Samantha.
Adding to the excitement, Alia grabbed attention by singing Samantha’s hit song “Oo Antava” from Pushpa, a gesture that fans loved. The event showcased a strong bond between the two actors and brought attention to their camaraderie rather than competition, breaking the stereotype of rivalry among female actors.
Jigra, Alia Bhatt’s highly anticipated film, features her in the role of Satya, a fiercely devoted sister on a mission to save her brother Ankur, played by Vedang Raina. The action-packed trailer highlights Alia’s character’s strength and determination, with a memorable line: “Maine kabhi nahi kaha, main sahi insaan hu. Main sirf, Ankur ki behen hu.”
The film, directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Dharma Productions, features a strong soundtrack, including “Chal Kudiye,” which reunites Alia with Diljit Dosanjh, and a recreation of the classic song “Phoolon Ka Taaro Ka.” Jigra is set to make an impact, continuing Alia’s streak of powerful performances.
