October 15, 2024: Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao, released alongside Alia Bhatt’s Jigra on Friday, and has managed to maintain an edge over Jigra in terms of box office performance. The film appeals to a mass audience, particularly in single screens and Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, whereas Jigra caters more to multiplex audiences with its niche appeal. This difference in target audiences has contributed to Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video performing slightly better than Jigra.
However, the box office collections for both films over the first weekend have been underwhelming. Like many films, both saw a significant drop on Monday. After earning Rs 18.8 crore during its first weekend, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video collected Rs 2.25 crore on Monday. This marks a steep decline of Rs 4 crore from Sunday’s earnings of Rs 6.4 crore. According to Sacnilk, the total box office collection for the film now stands at Rs 21.05 crore.

The film has grossed approximately 10-15% more than Jigra, though both movies were impacted by the Navratri festival, especially on Friday and Saturday.
