October 25, 2024: Angelina Jolie has sparked rumours of financial strain amid her ongoing legal feud with ex-husband Brad Pitt. The Maleficent star recently listed her prized 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupé Pininfarina for sale, with an expected price tag of $1.3 million. The move has fuelled speculation that the hefty legal expenses may be impacting her finances.

Jolie’s Ferrari Sale Raises Eyebrows The iconic black coupe, known for its wire-spoke wheels, is set to be auctioned at Christie’s “Exceptional Sale” in Paris. With only 353 units produced between 1955 and 1960, this particular model is a rare collector’s piece. According to Bloomberg, a Christie’s representative confirmed that the car retains its original engine but was likely repainted in 1978 from its original white and blue to black, with the interior changed from black to a striking red.
This decision to sell the vintage car comes just weeks after Jolie dropped her lawsuit against the FBI. The legal action aimed to obtain documents related to a 2016 incident on a private jet, where she accused Brad Pitt of violence toward her and their children. Jolie had previously filed a Freedom of Information Act request to learn more about the FBI’s investigation, which ultimately did not lead to charges against Pitt.
Ongoing Legal Battles and Financial Speculation The legal tensions between Jolie and Pitt also stem from their shared business interests. Earlier this year, Jolie sold her stake in Château Miraval, a French winery, to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler. Pitt claims this sale was done illegally and has been fighting it in court, asserting that Jolie’s actions were “vindictive.” As of now, 10% of the winery’s shares are held in escrow, leaving Pitt as the majority owner.
Back in June, a NewsNation report stated that Jolie received $55 million from the sale of her Miraval shares, marking her biggest recent payday. Despite this, rumors about her finances persist, with insiders suggesting that fewer high-paying film roles and increased expenses might be contributing to her financial strain. “She has a few small indie film roles lined up, but none of them will bring in the kind of money she’s used to,” shared a Hollywood insider.
Jolie’s net worth is estimated to be around $120 million, but with her legal battles showing no signs of resolution, fans are left wondering if the sale of her vintage car is a sign of deeper financial troubles.
