In his post-match comments, Markram praised his team for putting up a strong fight, particularly in the lower order, and emphasized that they would be focusing on areas to improve ahead of the final game of the series. “Proud of the effort to get that close. Good to see the contributions from the lower order. It was just down to executing what we discussed,” Markram said.

Reflecting on the high-scoring nature of the game and the challenges of chasing such a target, Markram added, “This is a ground where you can chase 220. I feel it is almost an over by over thing. If you win those overs, you have a great chance.” His comments highlighted the fast-paced nature of the game at SuperSport Park, where one good over can swing the match in either direction.

With the series still alive, Markram assured that the team would look at areas for improvement, especially in executing their plans better in the next game. “We will see areas to improve for the next game,” he concluded, shifting focus to the fourth and final encounter in Johannesburg on Friday.

South Africa will need to regroup quickly and address their execution issues if they are to level the series and end on a strong note. Markram’s leadership and the team’s resilience will be key as they face India in the series decider.
