Released on November 14, the highly anticipated pan-India film was made on a massive budget of ₹350 crore, yet it couldn’t surpass ₹60 crore in its first five days. The primary reason for its underwhelming performance is attributed to a weak script and poor word-of-mouth, which disappointed audiences across regions.
Underwhelming Collections
The film opened decently, earning ₹24 crore on its first day, including ₹3.5 crore from the Hindi version. However, these numbers fell far short of expectations, as Kanguva was predicted to achieve a ₹50 crore opening day. The situation worsened as negative reviews began circulating. By Friday and Saturday, the collections dipped to ₹9.5 crore, with only a slight recovery on Sunday, when it earned ₹10.5 crore.
In the Hindi belt, where Bobby Deol’s inclusion was expected to draw significant interest, the film collected a mere ₹10-11 crore across the first four days, despite a screen count of 2,500-3,000. This performance reflects its failure to attract the northern audience.
