December 19, 2024: Indian cricket legend Virat Kohli found himself in a tense moment at Melbourne Airport after a misunderstanding involving the media. Kohli, known for fiercely guarding his family’s privacy, expressed his frustration when cameras turned towards him and his children after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia in Brisbane.

The incident occurred when a few journalists were interviewing Australian pacer Scott Boland at the airport. Spotting Kohli and his family, the cameras shifted their focus, sparking the Indian cricketer’s concerns.
In a video clip shared by 7NEWS, Kohli was heard saying, “With my kids, I need some privacy. You can’t film without asking me.” The cricketer appeared visibly upset, believing that his children were being filmed without consent.

However, the situation de-escalated when Kohli was assured that the cameras were not capturing his children. After receiving the clarification, Kohli reportedly shook hands with a Channel 7 cameraman, signaling the end of the misunderstanding.
A journalist present at the scene later clarified, “It was largely a misunderstanding. Kohli became a little heated when he thought the media was filming him with his children.”

Kohli’s on-field performance in Australia has been a mixed bag. Apart from a stellar second-innings century in Perth, the Indian batter has struggled, scoring just 26 runs across his four other outings.
As for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the series remains evenly poised at 1-1. India claimed victory in Perth, while Australia leveled the score in Adelaide. The third Test in Brisbane ended in a rain-hit draw.
India and Australia are now gearing up for the iconic Boxing Day Test at Melbourne, scheduled to begin on December 26.
