The Former Indian Cricketer is believed to be out of danger, but more information is yet awaited
December 23, 2024: Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been admitted to Akruti Hospital in Thane after his health deteriorated over the weekend. Reports suggest that while Kambli’s condition is currently stable, it still remains critical.
Kambli recently attended the unveiling of his late coach Ramakant Achrekar’s statue at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, along with his childhood friend and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Concerns were raised after videos of Kambli struggling during the event went viral on social media.
Health Struggles and Family Support
Earlier, in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Kambli spoke openly about his health issues. He revealed he was suffering from a urine infection, which caused him to collapse suddenly and require hospitalisation. “My son, Jesus Cristiano, helped me stand up again. My daughter and wife have been my strongest support system during this time,” he shared.
Kambli also mentioned experiencing dizziness and fainting episodes, connecting them to the two heart surgeries he underwent in 2013.
Support from Sachin Tendulkar
Vinod Kambli expressed his gratitude towards Sachin Tendulkar, who has supported him both emotionally and financially. Kambli revealed, “Sachin helped me financially and paid for both my heart surgeries in 2013. He has always been there for me.”
