AAP Challenges Swati Maliwal’s allegations with Purported Video

In a new twist in the Swati Maliwal assault case, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a surprising stance against its own Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, by sharing a purported video clip from the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on the day of the alleged assault.

In a post on the social media platform X, AAP stated, “Swati Maliwal ka sach (Swati Maliwal’s truth).” The post references a news story featuring a purported video clip of Maliwal and security personnel at CM Kejriwal’s house on May 13. Delhi Police have noted that the video is yet to be authenticated.

This marks the first time AAP has publicly opposed Maliwal in the assault case, contradicting the party’s earlier stance. Previously, AAP MP Sanjay Singh had stated that Arvind Kejriwal was aware of the incident and had directed “strict action,” asserting that the party stood “with Swati Maliwal.”

In response to the same video clip, Swati Maliwal attacked an anonymous individual, calling him a “political hitman” and alleging that efforts were underway to protect the assailant. Maliwal emphasized that the ‘truth’ would come to light once the CCTV footage of the house and room was reviewed.

“Like every time, this time also this political hitman has started efforts to save himself. By getting his people to tweet and play videos without any context, he thinks he can save himself by committing this crime,” Maliwal alleged in a post on X. “Who makes a video of someone being beaten up? The truth will be revealed to everyone as soon as the CCTV footage of the house and the room is checked. Fall to whatever level you can, God is watching everything. One day everyone’s truth will come out in front of the world,” she added.
