In anticipation of Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn extended his heartfelt congratulations to Modi for securing his third consecutive term as Prime Minister. On Sunday, the ‘Singham’ actor took to his X account to share a congratulatory message, writing, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi ji on his re-election! Wishing continued success in guiding India towards prosperity and greatness with his wisdom and compassion.”
Narendra Modi is set to assume office as Prime Minister for a third consecutive term, following the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. In the 543-member lower house of the Indian Parliament, 272 seats are required for a majority. This victory makes Modi the second Indian leader, after founding Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, to win three consecutive terms.
Alongside Narendra Modi, members of his council of ministers will also take their oaths this evening. The preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are well underway, with posters featuring the PM-designate prominently displayed throughout Delhi.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the event, around 1,100 traffic police personnel from the Delhi Police have been deployed. An advisory has been issued to the public regarding the traffic movement and route arrangements made for the delegates attending the ceremony.
The swearing-in ceremony underscores India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, with several leaders and state heads from neighboring regions and the Indian Ocean region invited as distinguished guests. This gathering highlights the importance of regional diplomacy and cooperation.
