Akkineni Naga Chaitanya Applauds Formula 4-Night Street Race for Empowering Budding Drivers

Acclaimed actor Akkineni Naga Chaitanya recently attended the Formula 4-night street race in Chennai, a major event that has captured the attention of motorsport enthusiasts across India. The actor, known for his passion for speed and motorsports, expressed his admiration for the event and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in nurturing young talent.

Speaking to the media, Naga Chaitanya shared his excitement: “It’s been a great experience. Never dreamt that something like this would ever happen in Chennai. I would really like to thank the Chennai government and the people of Chennai for supporting this sport. The Indian Racing Festival is giving an opportunity to many budding drivers. Motorsports, some time back, was not so accessible, but now they are giving seats to young budding drivers, giving them a promising future to look forward to. There are so many moto enthusiasts in this country; events like this give them direction, opportunity, and build ambition among so many youngsters. I am really happy.”

The Formula 4-night street race is part of the Indian Racing Festival 2024, which is currently taking place at the Chennai Formula Racing Circuit (CFRC), a 3.5-km track that runs through the city’s Island Grounds. The event has drawn a large crowd, including notable figures such as actor John Abraham and former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly, who both arrived in Chennai to witness the action-packed race.

The race was officially flagged off by Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Sports Development and Youth Welfare, Udhayanidhi Stalin, on August 31. The event has been organized by the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government and marks a historic moment for Indian motorsports.

The street circuit, which winds through several of Chennai’s iconic landmarks, including the Victory War Memorial and Napier Bridge, offers a challenging course for the more than 40 drivers competing in the event. The unique layout and night setting have added an extra layer of excitement, making it a groundbreaking spectacle in the Indian motorsport scene.

Naga Chaitanya’s praise for the event highlights the growing significance of motorsports in India and the crucial role that such festivals play in providing a platform for young, aspiring drivers. As the Indian Racing Festival continues, it promises to set new benchmarks for motorsports in the country and inspire a new generation of racing enthusiasts.

With the Formula 4-night street race setting the stage for future motorsport events in India, fans and participants alike are eagerly looking forward to the thrilling races and the opportunities they bring for budding talents.
