Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s most beloved actresses, recently joined the chorus of praise for Indian shooters Swapnil Kusale, Sarabjot Singh, and Manu Bhaker, who have made the nation proud with their remarkable performances at the Paris Olympics 2024. Alia took to her Instagram story to share a collage featuring the three athletes, accompanied by a heartfelt message celebrating their victories.
Alia’s post read, “Making us proud with every shot! Congratulations! @bhakermanu @sarabjotsingh30 @swapnil_kusale @weareteamindia #Paris2024.” This message resonated with the feelings of countless Indians who are elated by the shooters’ achievements.
The standout moment came on Thursday when Swapnil Kusale made history by winning the bronze medal in the men’s 50m rifle 3P event. Kusale’s third-place finish, with an aggregate score of 451.4, marked the first time an Indian has medaled in this event, adding to the country’s growing tally in shooting.
In earlier events, Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker also brought glory to India by securing the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event. This victory was particularly special as it followed Bhaker’s individual bronze in the women’s 10m Air Pistol event. The duo’s triumph over South Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin with a score of 16-10 in the bronze medal play-off match was a testament to their skill and determination.
With these achievements, the Indian contingent has so far won three bronze medals at the Paris Olympics, all in shooting events, highlighting the country’s prowess in this sport.
The Paris Olympics, which began on July 26 and will conclude on August 11, have provided a platform for Indian athletes to showcase their talents on the global stage. The successes of Kusale, Singh, and Bhaker are inspiring millions of Indians and reinforcing the nation’s strong presence in international sports.
On the cinematic front, Alia Bhatt has an exciting lineup of projects. She will soon be seen headlining the film ‘Jigra.’ The release date for ‘Jigra’ has been rescheduled from September 27, 2024, to October 11, 2024.
