Alia Bhatt Praises ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Trailer: “Looks Unreal”

The highly anticipated film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been generating immense buzz ever since its trailer release. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas, the film’s trailer has captivated fans and celebrities alike. Adding to the chorus of admiration, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt expressed her excitement and praise for the film.

On Wednesday morning, Alia reshared Prabhas’s Instagram post on her stories, adding, “This looks unreal!!” Her reaction joins a growing list of accolades for the film’s intriguing and visually stunning trailer.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a post-apocalyptic film inspired by Hindu scriptures, set in the distant future year of 2898 AD. The trailer reveals that Ashwin has creatively reimagined the Mahabharata with a futuristic and dystopian twist.

In addition to its star-studded cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Prabhas, the film also features Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani in significant roles. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about productions of 2024.

The film’s recent promotional events have also been noteworthy. At a Hyderabad event, Prabhas made a grand entrance in a sports car amid fireworks and loud cheers, introducing a new character, Bujji—a tiny robot controlled by the brain and voiced by Keerthy Suresh. Bujji promises to add an exciting dimension to the film’s narrative.

Last month, during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the makers revealed a teaser of Amitabh Bachchan’s look from the film. The 21-second clip featured Big B in earthy tones, seated in a cave, engaged in prayer to a Shiva linga, and covered in bandages. In a brief but powerful moment, a young child questions him, asking, “Kya tum bhagwan ho, kya tum marr nahi sakte? Tum Bhagwan ho? Kaun ho Tum?” to which Big B’s character replies, “Dwapar yug se Dash avatar ki pratiksha kar raha hoon main, Dronacharya ka putra Ashwatthama.” (Since the Dwapar Yug, I have waited for the Dasavatar.)

With the film slated for a June 27 release, anticipation is at an all-time high.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt continues to have a busy year ahead. She will soon be seen in Vasan Bala’s ‘Jigra’, co-produced by Karan Johar and herself, set to release on September 27. Additionally, Alia is set to play the lead in a Spy Universe film, with filming scheduled to begin later this year. She will also share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War,’ which also stars Vicky Kaushal.
