After opening in theaters this year, a number of well-known Telugu movies will appear on the massive streaming service. A slate of twelve movies in Telugu that Netflix has leased for release in 2024 was revealed on Monday. The movies are ‘Devara’ by NTR Jr., ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ starring Allu Arjun and Prabhas, which was released in theaters around Christmas 2023. Along with these films, the roster also included “Buddy” from Studio Green, starring Allu Sirish; “Gangs of Godavari” from Sithara Entertainments, starring Vishwak Sen, Neha Shetty, Anjali, and Nassar; and “Hi Nanna,” the 2023 release from Vyra Entertainment, starring Nani and Mrunal Thakur.
Regarding this, Netflix India’s Vice President of Content Monika Shergill stated: “Our Telugu movie selection has a significant appeal, as evidenced by the 50% year-over-year rise in Netflix’s South content viewing. With the biggest actors in the industry and the best Telugu blockbuster films, this year’s roster is sure to enthrall viewers everywhere. We are ecstatic to present the best Telugu films to audiences in India and around the world.” The release of NTR Jr.’s Devara and Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa 2” is much anticipated by fans. The teaser for Devara, which features NTR Jr. in a vicious avatar, was just unveiled by the film’s makers.
Koratala Siva directed the movie, and Anirudh Ravichander composed the soundtrack. The movie also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. In related news, “Pushpa 2” is scheduled to open in theaters on August 15, 2024. In addition to Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil feature in the movie.
