October 11, 2024: On Amitabh Bachchan’s 82nd birthday, producer Anand Pandit reminisced about the profound impact that the megastar’s iconic film “Trishul” had on his life and career.
Reflecting on his youth, Pandit shared that he watched “Trishul” an astonishing 60-70 times, and it inspired him greatly. He recalled, “I have grown up watching Bachchan ji’s films. ‘Trishul’ is one film that deeply impacted me. I had in mind that I also wanted to become the Amitabh Bachchan of Trishul. It motivated me a lot and it’s somehow responsible for making me move to Mumbai.”
In a heartfelt tribute to the film, Anand expressed his dream of making “Trishul 2” with Bachchan, calling it his ultimate aspiration.
He stated, “I would love to make Trishul 2 with him. It’s my dream to collaborate with Bachchan sahab on Trishul 2. This film motivated me to move to Mumbai… so if I get a chance to make Trishul 2, I would be extremely grateful and honored. It’s my dream film to make Trishul with Bachchan Sahib in today’s context.”
Originally released in 1978, “Trishul” starred Bachchan alongside renowned actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Hema Malini, and Raakhee. The film is celebrated for its powerful storytelling and unforgettable performances, particularly Bachchan’s role, which established him as an iconic figure in Indian cinema.
Anand Pandit has a close relationship with Bachchan, having worked together on several projects, including “Chehre,” “Sarkar 3,” and “Fakt Purusho Maate.”
Speaking about their bond, he noted, “He’s been an inspiration to me. Whenever I meet him, I learn something or the other. He is so hardworking. I wish him all the happiness in the world.”
