Bollywood’s rising star, Ananya Panday, is all set to make her mark in the OTT space with her upcoming show titled “Call Me Bae.” The show, which marks Ananya’s debut on a streaming platform, promises to be an exciting blend of humor, drama, and glamour, all wrapped up in a quirky narrative.
On Wednesday, the makers of the show delighted fans by dropping a new promotional video, featuring Ananya Panday alongside none other than producer Karan Johar. In the clip, Ananya is seen inside a futuristic spaceship, with Karan Johar lending his voice to guide the proceedings, asking questions about her “main character energy,” “glam quotient,” and even her “bank balance.”
Ananya, clearly puzzled by the interrogation, interrupts Karan to ask what he’s up to. In classic KJo style, he replies with a humorous twist, “Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek hi baar hoti hai, par launch to baar baar ho sakta hai na,” poking fun at the frequent launches actors experience in their careers.
The light-hearted video humorously captures Ananya’s transformation into Bae, with her discussing the shift from her usual roles to playing a more relatable character. She shares her excitement about portraying Bae—a former South Delhi heiress now navigating the hustle and bustle of Mumbai, far removed from the glamorous lifestyle she’s often associated with.
Ananya Panday leads the cast as Bella Bae Chowdhary, supported by a stellar ensemble including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
