“Ancient Apocalypse S2” : Keanu Reeves All Set To Join Graham Hancock

Published:

Netflix has confirmed the return of Ancient Apocalypse for a second season, with Graham Hancock returning as host and actor Keanu Reeves joining the cast.

This season will focus on exploring ancient civilizations in the Americas and their potential connection to cataclysmic events at the end of the last Ice Age, roughly 12,800 to 11,600 years ago. The new episodes will feature locations like New Mexico, Peru, and Brazil, areas that have often been overlooked in archaeological research about early human civilizations.

Keanu Reeves is expected to bring his unique storytelling perspective, focusing on cultural preservation as he joins Hancock in the exploration. Hancock has long posited that a sophisticated, lost civilization may have existed before being destroyed by catastrophic events.

While the first season, which premiered in 2022, garnered high viewership, it also faced criticism, especially from indigenous groups concerned about the portrayal of history and the filming locations. Despite the controversy, the production company, ITN Productions, defended the choices of filming sites based on editorial importance.

Hancock expressed his enthusiasm about this season, noting the importance of investigating the Americas for new evidence that could stimulate debate in the archaeological community. The series will be executive produced by Bruce Kennedy and directed by Marc Tiley.
