Anupamaa Tragedy: Actor Shivam Khajuria Addresses Death Incident on Show’s Set

November 17, 2024: The sets of the popular TV show Anupamaa, starring Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna, witnessed a tragic incident that has left the entertainment fraternity in shock. Reports emerged of a crew member, a lightman, losing his life due to an electric shock while working on the production set.

Shocking Incident on Anupamaa Sets

According to sources, the lightman was performing technical duties when he accidentally came into contact with live electrical wires. Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, he tragically succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) is currently investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, stated that they are looking into possible negligence and have promised strict action if any lapses are found.

Shivam Khajuria Breaks Silence

Actor Shivam Khajuria, who is part of the show, has reacted to the incident. In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Shivam said, “The production house has not revealed the identity of the individual yet. However, if there has been negligence, it will not be tolerated.”

Despite the severity of the incident, Rajan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Productions, which helms Anupamaa, has yet to release an official statement regarding the tragedy. The lack of communication has raised questions about safety measures on sets and the accountability of production houses in ensuring crew safety.

FWICE Speaks Out

BN Tiwari, representing FWICE, emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols on sets and assured that a detailed investigation would be conducted. He added that negligence in any form would result in severe consequences, not just for the individuals involved but also for the reputation of the production house.

Ongoing Discussions

The tragic event has stirred conversations within the entertainment industry about workplace safety, particularly for crew members who often work in challenging and high-risk conditions. With FWICE taking a firm stance, it remains to be seen what action will be taken and how this incident will shape future safety measures.

Fans of Anupamaa and members of the industry alike are expressing their condolences for the lightman and his family. This heartbreaking incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of safety and vigilance on production sets.
