Following his reputation as an Indian movie fan, Australian opener “David Warner” showed up to the Big Bash League (BBL) Sydney derby between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in the most movie-like way possible. The daring opener, who recently ended his Test and ODI career, flew into the famous Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in a chopper.
Warner is known to love Indian films and culture. During his matches, he often dances to music from Indian films and uses lines from films when talking to fans and the media.
After going to his brother’s wedding, he came to the match. There was a video of Warner landing in a helicopter on the pitch that was shared by the official BBL X (formerly Twitter) account. “Hi, Dave Warner. In an helicopter. Getting to the SCG. This is how it went. “#BBL13 @davidwarner31 @ThunderBBL @scg,” BBL wrote on Twitter.
In his career, Warner has played nine BBL games and made 251 runs, with an average of 35.86 and a hundred and fifty. 102 is his best score. In the 2012–13 season, he played for the Sydney Sixers. Other than that, he has played for the Thunder. Warner has played 355 T20s and made 11,695 runs, with an average of 37.60 and a strike rate of 140.61. The best score he’s ever made is 135*, and he has eight hundreds and 99 fifties.
Warner has retired from two of the older types of cricket as a hero. He has won the ICC World Test Championship, two ICC Cricket World Cups, and many Ashes. The last ODI he played for Australia was in the final of the Cricket World Cup, which they won by beating India to claim their sixth 50-over WC title.
Warner got an average of 44.59 runs per innings and 11,286 runs in 112 Test matches. He had 26 centuries and 37 fifties in 205 innings. 335* is his best score. He has scored five hundred runs or more in Tests for Australia.
Warner has made 6,932 runs in 161 ODIs, with an average of 45.30. He has 22 centuries and 33 fifties in 159 games, making him Australia’s sixth-highest ODI run scorer. 179 is his best score in an ODI.
As of June 1, the ICC T20 World Cup will be held in the West Indies and the USA. Warner will still play T20Is. He has played 99 T20Is and scored 2,894 runs at an average of 32.88. In those games, he has hit a century and 24 fifties. His best grade is 100*. He has scored the second most runs for Australia in T20Is.
