New Delhi, May 4, 2025: Air India has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Tel Aviv until May 6, following a missile strike near Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport. In response to the incident, Air India flight AI139 from Delhi to Tel Aviv was diverted mid-air and safely landed in Abu Dhabi. The airline later confirmed that the flight would return to Delhi and that all future operations to Tel Aviv were suspended as a precautionary measure.
“The safety of our customers and crew remains top priority,” Air India stated, offering affected passengers a one-time waiver for rescheduling or full refunds for cancellations dated between May 4 and May 6, 2025.
The airline’s ground staff are assisting passengers with alternative arrangements.

The missile attack, which struck near the main terminal at Ben Gurion Airport, prompted a brief suspension of all flight operations. The Houthi group claimed responsibility, stating that the airport was “no longer safe for air travel.”
Reacting to the strike, Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant issued a strong warning:
“Anyone who hits us, we will hit them seven times stronger.”
The Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, have continued to target Israeli infrastructure as part of their claimed “solidarity with Palestinians.”
