iOS 26 brings a complete design overhaul, advanced Apple Intelligence features, and exciting app updates — available soon for iPhone 11 and above.
June 10, 2025: Apple lifted the curtain on iOS 26 at WWDC 2025, introducing one of its most visually and functionally transformative iPhone updates yet. From a fresh Liquid Glass design language to expanded Apple Intelligence AI tools, the latest iOS redefines how users interact with their devices — and pushes the boundaries of on-device machine learning.
Here’s a look at what’s new in iOS 26:
🔷 Visual Makeover: ‘Liquid Glass’ Design
Apple’s Craig Federighi unveiled Liquid Glass, a new translucent design material that enhances icons, widgets, and navigation with light-reflective and refractive textures. The lock screen time widget now intelligently resizes, adapting to the image background, while motion-based 3D effects bring the display to life.
Other visual tweaks include a redesigned Camera layout, floating Apple Music tab bar, and smoother Safari page scrolling.

🤖 Apple Intelligence Just Got Smarter
Apple’s on-device AI gets a significant boost:

- Smart Suggestions: iPhones can now recognize dates/events in images or chats and auto-suggest calendar entries.
- Writing Tools & Genmoji: AI helps draft responses, mix emojis, and create new visuals using Image Playground.
📱 App Changes That Matter
- Phone App: New layout merges Recents, Voicemail, and Favourites. Call Screening with Live Voicemail lets you decide whether to pick up.
- Messages: Now supports polls, typing indicators in group chats, and screening unknown messages.
- Apple Music: New Lyrics Translation & Pronunciation, plus AutoMix for DJ-style transitions.
- Apple Maps: Adds Visited Places and personalized route suggestions.
- New ‘Apple Games’ App: A gaming dashboard that centralizes events, game launches, and switching between games.
🚗 CarPlay & AirPods Upgrades
- CarPlay: Compact call view, pinned conversations, Tapbacks, widgets, and Live Activities are now part of the experience.
- AirPods: New studio-quality audio recording for AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) and AirPods 4. A camera remote feature lets you click photos or start/stop videos with a long press of the stem.
