'Back-to-School' Rush: Dubai Airport Braces for 3.6 Million Travelers
Dubai, UAE – August 14, 2025: As the summer holidays draw to a close, Dubai International (DXB) is preparing for a significant surge in passenger traffic. Between August 13 and August 25, the airport is expected to handle more than 3.6 million guests, with daily averages soaring to an impressive 280,000. The busiest day is projected to be Friday, August 15, when traffic is set to exceed 290,000.
This “back-to-school” rush marks the end of a record-breaking summer for the emirate. The first half of 2025 saw Dubai welcome 9.88 million international visitors, a 6% increase year-on-year, while DXB handled over 46 million guests, solidifying its position as the world’s busiest international airport.
To ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for everyone, Dubai Airports is collaborating with the oneDXB community, which includes airlines, control authorities, and various service partners. The goal is to make the journey as seamless as possible during this peak travel period.
In addition to streamlining the flow of passengers, the airport has also enhanced its support for People of Determination. This includes marked accessibility routes, a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge in Terminal 2, and discreet assistance for passengers wearing Sunflower Lanyards.
With millions of families returning from their holidays and students beginning a new academic year, DXB is once again demonstrating its capacity to handle massive volumes of traffic while prioritizing a positive travel experience for all.
