Bank of Baroda Introduces AI-Driven Support and Digital Payment Solutions for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

BoB establishes branches, forex facilities, and digital payment solutions to serve millions of Maha Kumbh visitors

Prayagraj, January 12: In preparation for the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Bank of Baroda (BoB) has announced a series of innovative banking solutions, including AI-driven customer support, full-fledged branches with forex transaction facilities, and enhanced digital payment services, to cater to the world's largest public gathering.

Key Banking Initiatives:

  1. Full-Fledged Branches and Facilities:
    • BoB is setting up two full-service branches with forex transaction capabilities to serve international visitors.
    • Onsite and mobile ATMs, along with coin vending machines, will address diverse banking needs.
  2. AI-Powered Virtual Assistance:
    • The bank has launched Aditi, a GenAI-powered Virtual Relationship Manager, to provide instant solutions to banking queries for visitors and pilgrims.
  3. Digital Payment Promotion:
    • The newly introduced BoB e-Pay UPI app is being promoted to encourage digital payments. Customers and merchants will receive incentives for adopting seamless payment solutions.
  4. Support for Merchants and Volunteers:
    • Deployment of Business Correspondents (BC Sakhis) to assist merchants, tourists, and pilgrims with banking services.
    • Provision of merchant carts and reflector jackets for enhanced visibility and support during the event.

Banking with Purpose

VG Senthilkumar, Head of Marketing and Branding at BoB, highlighted the opportunity to connect with a diverse audience during the Maha Kumbh:
"As the world's largest public gathering, the Maha Kumbh Mela presents a unique opportunity for brands. For banks, it is especially critical to ensure seamless banking and payment services to millions of devotees and tourists," he said.

Senthilkumar emphasized BoB's commitment to leveraging the platform for brand visibility, customer engagement, and delivering financial solutions to every section of society.

Maha Kumbh Security and Overview

In addition to banking services, the Uttar Pradesh Police have implemented a multi-layered security system in Prayagraj to manage the influx of over 45 crore devotees.

Devotees will gather at the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, to take a holy dip believed to absolve sins and bring spiritual liberation.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will conclude on February 26, marking the end of this grand spiritual celebration.
