Quick commerce platform Blinkit introduces emergency ambulance services, promising rapid response with life-saving equipment and trained professionals.
New Delhi, January 2: Quick commerce platform Blinkit has taken a significant step beyond daily essentials, beauty products, and groceries by introducing 10-minute ambulance services for critical medical emergencies. This new initiative, announced by Founder and CEO Albinder Dhindsa on X (formerly Twitter), aims to address the urgent need for reliable and timely ambulance services in Indian cities.
To kickstart the initiative, five ambulances will begin operating in Gurugram from Thursday. Dhindsa expressed Blinkit’s commitment to solving the challenge of delayed medical responses in urban areas, saying, “Ambulance in 10 minutes. We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities.”
Equipped for Emergencies
The Blinkit ambulances are fitted with oxygen cylinders, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medicines and injections. Each vehicle will have a trained paramedic, an assistant, and a professional driver to ensure efficient and high-quality service during emergencies.

Affordable and Non-Profit Initiative
Dhindsa clarified that the ambulance service is not aimed at profit but focuses on offering an affordable solution for patients in need. “Profit is not a goal here. We will operate this service at an affordable cost for customers and invest in really solving this critical problem for the long term,” he stated.
Expansion Plans
Blinkit plans to gradually expand its ambulance services to other major cities across India over the next two years. Customers will soon have the option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly through the Blinkit app.
The CEO also appealed to citizens to always make way for ambulances, emphasizing the importance of public cooperation in ensuring timely medical assistance.
This innovative move marks Blinkit’s foray into healthcare logistics, reflecting the growing influence of quick commerce in addressing critical societal needs.
