BluSmart Halts Cab Services Amid SEBI Probe: Here’s How To Claim Your Wallet Refund

Users in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru stuck with wallet balances as the app suspends bookings; refunds promised within 90 days if services remain shut

New Delhi | April 17, 2025 — Electric ride-hailing startup BluSmart has abruptly suspended cab services across major Indian metros—Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru—leaving loyal users stranded and many demanding refunds from their Blu Cab Wallet balances.

The Gurgaon-based company, co-founded by Anmol Singh Jaggi and Puneet Singh Jaggi, is in turmoil following allegations by SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) that it misappropriated funds through affiliate company Gensol Engineering Ltd. According to the regulatory body, company funds earmarked for electric vehicle expansion were allegedly diverted to buy luxury real estate.

Despite rising customer complaints, BluSmart has issued no official press release explaining the service disruption. A brief email to users simply stated:

“We’ve decided to temporarily close bookings on the BluSmart app.”
It added that if services are not restored, wallet refunds will be processed within 90 days.

With no direct “Refund” button in the app, here’s the workaround users can follow:

  1. Open the BluSmart App on your phone.
  2. Tap the menu icon (top-left corner) and go to the Help section.
  3. Select Blu Wallet from the list of support topics.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the FAQ section and tap the thumbs-down icon under “Does this fix your issue?”
  5. This enables you to chat with or message a support executive.
  6. Submit your refund request manually. The team should respond within a few business days.
  7. If the refund is approved, the amount will be credited back to your account within a few working days.

🗣️ User Concerns Mount

BluSmart’s prepaid fare model, where users load money into the app wallet in advance, differs from post-paid systems used by Ola and Uber. With no clear refund mechanism and booking options disabled, users have flooded social media demanding answers.

Meanwhile, SEBI’s ongoing investigation into the Jaggi brothers and Gensol Engineering has cast a shadow over BluSmart’s future—especially given its earlier claims of being India’s fastest-growing all-electric ride service.
