Prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders drop for the fourth time since March, easing costs for hotels and restaurants — but domestic LPG rates remain unchanged.
New Delhi | July 1, 2025 —
In a welcome move for commercial establishments, oil marketing companies have slashed the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹58.50, effective July 1. This brings the price in Delhi down to ₹1,665, compared to ₹1,723.50 in June.
However, the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder price remains unchanged, leaving household budgets under continued pressure despite repeated calls for relief.
This marks the fourth price cut since March 2025, when commercial LPG saw a ₹6 hike after a marginal ₹7 reduction in February. Prices were lowered by ₹24 in June and ₹38.50 in April.

“The new rates offer significant cost savings for small businesses, especially restaurants and hotels, which heavily rely on commercial LPG cylinders,” said an oil company official.
🔹 Revised Commercial LPG Prices (City-Wise):
- Delhi: ₹1,665
- Noida: ₹1,747.50
- Kolkata: ₹1,769 (down from ₹1,826)
- Mumbai: ₹1,616 (down from ₹1,674.50)
- Chennai: ₹1,881 (up from ₹1,823.50)
❌ No Relief for Domestic Users
Despite commercial LPG price drops, the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder cost remains untouched. Oil companies confirmed there is “no change” in domestic pricing, which affects nearly 90% of India’s LPG consumption.
With over 33 crore domestic LPG connections as of April 2025, households continue to bear the burden of high fuel costs, even as commercial sectors benefit from reductions.
📉 Why the Price Cut?
India’s LPG pricing is closely tied to global crude oil prices, with LPG derived during refining. In May 2025, India’s crude oil basket averaged $64.5 per barrel, the lowest in three years. This decline has helped oil firms cut losses and pass on benefits — but only to the commercial sector so far.
If crude prices continue to stay low, experts estimate a 45% drop in LPG-related losses for FY26.
